Do You Meet In Person or On the Phone?

I provide in office appointments and tele-therapy appointments. Although I can provide video appointments, I cannot guarantee HIPAA compliance using FaceTime.  Although sites such as  Doxyme.com  do provide higher encryption and  confidentiality, they also tend to require more bandwidth than my office/phone WIFI can support.

Are Masks Required?

Masks are no longer required in our office, as we operate in a private practice building with several different businesses.  If you would prefer that I  wear a mask during your appointment, please let me know so that I can wear one during our session.  Please note that the waiting room may have unmasked individuals waiting for their appointments with other providers.  If this will make you uncomfortable, perhaps a phone appointment would be a better fit.

What Can I Expect In My Initial Appointment?

In our initial intake appointment, which will be an hour in duration, we will focus on why you are seeking counseling and how you hope this process can help you in achieving your goals.  I realize this may seem like a lot to achieve in the first session, but I think it's important that you leave your first session with realistic expectations on how much counseling may be able to benefit you. Our sessions will be approximately 52-60 minutes in length with the focus being solely on your needs.  Although paperwork is a necessary requirement of this field, I am known as the therapist who doesn't take many notes during session, because I am focused on looking at you and listening to what you are saying.  Your appointment is your time.

How Long Does Therapy Last?
Each session is 52-60 minutes in duration. I do not believe in making long term scheduling contracts (eg scheduling 16 appointment)  with my patients.
Although most of my patients decide to come in on set weekly or every other week appointment times,  I believe that the work takes as long as it needs to depending on the individual person and their situation.

What's Your Cancellation Policy?
I do have a 48 hour cancellation policy simply so that I can offer your appointment time to others on my waitlist (currently full)  in the event you know you cannot make your scheduled appointment.
